RSA Arts and Ecology are asking any of us involved in arts and environment activities during June to notify them, so they can build up momentum and energy, and a picture of activity throughout the UK. The project is called ‘Respond!’, and already they have had a massive and enthusiastic response.
“Respond! takes place in June 2009 to highlight and celebrate a month of nationwide events, exhibitions, talks and projects that demonstrate the arts’ engagement with environmental issues.
In June this year we want to take a snapshot of the activity that is taking place in the UK to build on the agenda of World Environment Day which takes place on 5 June.”

And here’s a May Bank Holiday feast of landmark environmental art works. Just click the link below. It is an exciting mix of projects and interviews gleaned from YouTube by Gemma Lloyd as a contribution to the Respond! project.

Gemma Lloyd is one of the writers of the wonderful RSA Arts and Ecology blog. Below is one of her YouTube selections, where we see and hear Robert Smithson himself.
