Essential Haiku

One of our art walking group, Anne Wilkinson, writes a haiku for every walk she comes on. I thought you would like to see just a few of these beautiful mementos.

Plant Walk at Braunton Burrows
Warm, still summer air
Rustling grasses underfoot
Flash of pink orchid

Horsey Island

Flock of sheep flowing

Through the silent, still landscape:
Age-old sounds of life

Heddons Mouth 1

Sobbing river’s moan
Shock of waves on grey pebbles

Blue kingfisher – joy!

Heddons Mouth 2
In the warm spring light

Golden gorse bushes echo
Sunshine in my heart

About throughstones

I am primarily a visual artist, living on the North Devon coast, a beautiful semi-rural area in South West England. I am interested in full engagement with 'place' and the eternal movement of life - particularly as it relates to what we call 'the natural environment'.
